(1) If an explanation is sought from the concerned police officer after the completion of the investigation in accordance with rule 64, if he does not give an explanation within the specified time or if the explanation given by him is not satisfactory, the officer who orders the punishment of such police officer may order the punishment in the format as per Schedule-5. And a copy of the punishment order given in that way should be given to him.
(2) If the convicted police officer is not in contact, the punishment order under sub-rule (1) shall be delivered to his family member in accordance with the prevailing law. In this way, the concerned person cannot claim that he did not receive the information after submitting the punishment order. If the family member does not understand the punishment order or if no family member is found, such punishment order should be publicly thrown at his home address.
(3) In accordance with sub-rule (2), the copy of the sentencing order or the copy of the sentencing order shall be attached to the relevant file.
